WHO WE ARE
We are the YOUNGO International Youth Ocean’s Voice Working Group formed by more than 365 members from over 60 countries with the same vision, mission, and values. We actively work to raise the profile of ocean considerations within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) process, and come together to develop solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation, particularly in priority areas impacting or impacted by the ocean. Our Vision is to be the benchmark for other international organizations formed by youth working for climate change focusing on the Ocean, connecting its leaders under the premise “one Planet, one Ocean, one Voice”. Our Mission is to offer support in the implementation of strategies that enable meaningful impacts, by means of international collaboration initiatives for/in favor of the Ocean’s Sustainability at the global/regional/local level.
WHAT WE DO
The international collective of passionate, knowledgeable, and action-oriented youth within the Network call on the UNFCCC to acknowledge the importance and the value of ocean issues for a successful implementation of the Paris Agreement, and make progress on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
We are organized in four different ocean regions: Africa/Gulf of Guinea, America/Caribbean, Asia/Pacific and Europe/Mediterranean
Each region conducts research and promotes campaigns in order to encourage and give international visibility to ocean projects.
