Mar Menor
It is in the Region of Murcia, one of the 17 Autonomous Communities of Spain
With its 135 km2, it is considered the largest salt lagoon in Europe, presents a direct connection with the Mediterranean Sea and with it with the oceanic mass of the world
The main ecosystem activities are
Fishing
Currently about a hundred families those who live from this activity
Tourism which includes hotels, restaurants, small businesses
It provides direct environmental services to at least 1.5 million inhabitants
On its coasts, economic activities are developed that represent around 2,968 million euros per year 7 and tourism represents about 13% of GDP (4.24 M of euros) of the Region of Murcia.
